Wow – photos

Wonders of Wool was such a busy market, I didn't have time to take photos until half-way through so lots of goodies are already missing here.

Still – here are some photos from Happy-go-knitty's stall at Wonders of Wool, Wellington Underground market.

Enjoy!

Blendy knits again

I’m going to Wellington on Friday and I’m looking forward to
a very exciting weekend. On Saturday it’s time for Craft2.0.

At the Atrium, Chaffers Dock Building, Herd Street,
Wellington City. We will be open 10–4.

But there is more! The very clever Belinda Too from Blendy Knits
is releasing her latest book, Blendy Knits Again, at Craft2.0!

As a special bonus issue, pre-Craft2.0 event, come along to the
Blendy Knits Book Launch Party on Friday night and be the first
to buy this great new knitting book, which features 25 patterns for
hats, legwarmers, fingerless gloves, socks, lace scarves cardigans.

Blendy Knits Book Launch Party
Friday Oct 28 4:30pm – 8:30pm
Paramount Theatre – by the bar

Not only can you lay your hands on the new book, I will be there
so that you can get some yarn for your knitting! The two patterns
below are made from Happy-go-knitty hand-dyed cotton.
My sock yarn is not featured in the book (it’s too new!)
but of course you can use it for the patterns in the book.

Merino and flowers

A few people at the markets have asked if I dye 4ply merino.
Well, I haven’t so far but I thought I’d give it a go.

I dyed 200g skeins that I have split up in two.
It’s fascinating how different the skein look when you ‘re-skein’ it.

My next market will be Titirangi Mums’ Craft Market.
It’s a market specialised for kids (and mums)
so I thought I’d better make some more hair clips!

To market!

I have worked frantically the past week to get ready for
Devonport Craft Market tomorrow.
And, phew, I’m finally done!

Yummy, soft hand-dyed merino wool on skeins

Some more merino beanies

Lots of shades of hand-dyed cotton yarn

And some new cotton beanies

I have created postcards of the Hearts for Canterbury outdoor installation.
All proceeds for the postcards will be donated to the Red Cross Canterbury
Appeal so please come along and buy some cards to show your support!

Space invaders

I love space invaders!
So I came up with the idea to bead-knit them on cuffs.
Pretty cool, eh!

Black merino cuffs with silver beads

Another one soon to be finished

I’m doing a market in Royal Oak tomorrow.
I have heard that it’s a great market with a wonderful atmosphere
so I’m really excited!

I have finished some new products for the market and yes,
the space invaders are coming along as well!

I have also made a treat for myself.
A bright, funky flower brooch for my hot pink coat!

My day at the market

When I woke up this morning it was torrential rain...
So I went to Devonport Craft Market with very low expectations on sales
but a good day, socialising with all my crafty friends.

But to my big surprise I had good sales! And I got an order.
And some Devo friends dared the rain and came around.
So I have had a great day today!
Now I’m gonna put my feet up with a cuppa.

50g balls of Happy-go-knitty hand-dyed cotton yarn

And 5g balls to add some stripes. Or for decoration.
I have had customers buying them simply because they’re cute!

Why not buy a beanie kit and make your own beanie?

New stock

I did my first market for the season yesterday – Devonport Craft market.
It was so much fun to catch up with old friends, I did some pretty good sales
and I got an order. Yay!

Unfortunately I forgot to bring my camera so I couldn’t take any photos of my table...
I have a new very cool display but I can’t show you this time.
At least I took some photos the day before the market.

Soft and warm merino cuffs.

Beadknitted cuffs in merino or alpacka.

27 beanies made of my handdyed cotton.

Flowers galore!
The double flowers at the top are rings and brooches.
The single ones hair clips and hair ties.

Well, my hand isn’t that pretty but the ring is cool, eh!

Flowers in the sun

I refuse to think that summer is over!
The weather has been warm and sunny today
so I have been sitting outside making some new flowers.

Some hair clips are finished, the other flowers are going on hair ties.

More colours to come!

Welcome to my colourful world

I have to admit it, I’m a knitaholic...

I knit all the time, even while I’m walking to work.
The thing is, I can't be bothered if people think I’m a bit weird.
I get a lot done!

I sell my knits at various craft markets, take a look in the sidebar to the left
to see where you can find me. Here are some pics of knitted bits and pieces.
(Some cuffs have my old label, Mira Design)
