Tangle-free earphones

How many minutes do you spend per day, untangling you earphones?
Quite a few, I guess? You need some colourful, knitted earphones!
I guarantee that they are tangle-free.

The earphones are SONY and they come in funky colours.
NZ$40 or I can custom knit yours for NZ$25.

Wow, what a day!

Wow, Auckland Art & Craft Fair was so much fun!
It was very busy and I met so many nice people.
Thanks to all my lovely customers!
I didn't have time to take any photos but the fair
photographer took this one of my stall.

More photos from the fair here.

Busy, busy

I'm very excited about being part of Auckland Art & Craft Fair
this Saturday! It's an amazing event with more than 80 stall holders.
It takes place at Aotea Centre and we will be there 11-3.

I will bring lots of yarn – BFL sock yarn (semi-solid and self-striping),
lusciuos silk/merino lace weight in new colours, the yummy
super chunky merino/alpaca and two boxes of 100% cotton
in the colour of the rainbow.

And of course the knitted goodies as well! I have loads of cuffs
and kid's cotton beanies. If you're a knitter yourself I will bring
kits for cuffs and flower brooches.

On Sunday you will find me at Titirangi Village market.
I will be back in my regular spot up on the stage.
If you haven't been to this market you should come for a visit.
It has a lovely vibe to it with live music, a cafe and lots
of funky crafts. It's open from 10-2.

Hope to see you in the weekend!

Let’s do a give-away!

Oh, I reached 10.000 visitors today!
That’s worth celebrating isn’t it?
I think I will give away a pair of cuffs!

Browse the blog (you can use the label cloud) and check out which
cuffs you like the most. The bead-knitted ones made of NZ merino?
With skulls? Or a zig-zag pattern? Or the frilly ones made of hand-spun merino,
spun by my clever sister MiA? Or maybe the stripy ones?

Leave me a comment and let me know which ones are your favourite cuffs
and you might win them!

I will draw the winner on Tuesday 24 July, 9pm NZ time.

Please note, some of the cuffs were one-offs and I might not
have them anymore or be able to replicate them. If that’s the
case the winner will have to pick another pair.

Second cuff syndrome

Some sock knitters suffer from Second sock syndrome.
You know – it’s so exciting to knit the first sock, to see how
the yarn will come out and what it will feel like. But, well,
when it’s time for the second one the novelty is gone...

I’m not a sock knitter but I suffer from Second cuff syndrome.
I have so many ideas for bead-knitted patterns that I want to try
and the first cuff is so exciting! I try to fool myself by knitting
quite a few ‘first ones’ so that the excitement comes back again
for the second one and, yup, it kind of works!

I have been good and finished some

Cuffs are a great way to stay warm during the winter!
And they look fab too, don’t they?

Silk and stripy

I dyed some new yarn in the weekend,
below are some samples.

50% silk/50% merino 2ply lace weight

100% BFL sock yarn,
dyed so that it self-stripes

If you would like and to see them live, my next market will be
Crafternoon Tea, Saturday 21 July, 10-2.
