Blendy knits again

I’m going to Wellington on Friday and I’m looking forward to
a very exciting weekend. On Saturday it’s time for Craft2.0.

At the Atrium, Chaffers Dock Building, Herd Street,
Wellington City. We will be open 10–4.

But there is more! The very clever Belinda Too from Blendy Knits
is releasing her latest book, Blendy Knits Again, at Craft2.0!

As a special bonus issue, pre-Craft2.0 event, come along to the
Blendy Knits Book Launch Party on Friday night and be the first
to buy this great new knitting book, which features 25 patterns for
hats, legwarmers, fingerless gloves, socks, lace scarves cardigans.

Blendy Knits Book Launch Party
Friday Oct 28 4:30pm – 8:30pm
Paramount Theatre – by the bar

Not only can you lay your hands on the new book, I will be there
so that you can get some yarn for your knitting! The two patterns
below are made from Happy-go-knitty hand-dyed cotton.
My sock yarn is not featured in the book (it’s too new!)
but of course you can use it for the patterns in the book.

So handy!

Well, I have to say that I'm very pleased with the self-striping
sock yarn! These cute socks arrived in my letterbox today,
my kind sister knitted them for me to use as samples.
Aren’t they very cool!

I have dyed some more self-striping BFL...

...and some more semi-solid BFL.

Tomorrow I will do the 75%wool/25% nylon sock yarn.

If you would like to buy some yarn, they are listed
in my shop at Oh, For Crafts Sake.

Going to Craft2.0?

Are you planning to visit Craft2.0 on the 29 October?
Are you a bit curious about my new sock yarn?
Well, I'm going to dye heaps more to bring to Craft2.0
so if there are any specific colours you would like to see,
please leave a comment below!

I will dye semi-solids and self-striping,
BFL and 75%wool/25%nylon.

You can see samples of my sock yarn here.

No obligations to buy it of course,
but you might find it hard to resist!

PS. Please let me know soon, so that I can have it ready!

From wool to cuff

My very clever sister has dyed and spun me some beautiful merino.
Since it is hand-spun, it slowly shifts in colour and I thought that
would be really cool for cuffs. I decided to make the cuffs with
a frill at the end and they have some subtle beads around the edge.

Hand-dyed, hand-spun, hand-knitted...
It doesn’t get much more hand-made than that!

And I made some cuffs stripy in a colourful
Happy-go-knitty kind of way.

I have dyed some more orange and pink cotton.
I didn’t have many skeins left to dye,
but more will arrive in a couple of weeks.

Want to see more of my sister’s gorgeous hand-spun yarn?
Check it out here.

I'm so lucky!

You know I just dyed some beautiful BFL sock yarn.
But I don't know how to knit socks...
I’m so lucky that my dear sister is a clever sock knitter
and knits a sample for me!

Thanks sis!

Not only is she a clever sock knitter – she spins
the most amazing yarn! Check out her blog,
Minspiration, for some fantastic fibers.
